Gettysburg College: Two Adjunct Job Positions for Fall 2020

Gettysburg College’s Philosophy Department is offering two adjunct job positions for the Fall of 2020.  Here is a description from one of the faculty members in the college’s Philosophy Department, Mercedes Valmisa:

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for adjunct positions to cover one or both of the following courses: Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy (PHIL 205) and Introduction to Philosophy (PHIL 101) for the fall semester of 2020 (beginning August 17). Both courses may be taught as hybrid (online and in-person) or as fully online. We especially welcome candidates who bring a focus outside the Anglo-European canon, a commitment to the ethos of the liberal arts tradition, and who can contribute to the department’s pluralistic approach to philosophy. Ph.D. degree preferred but not required at time of appointment.

Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of over 2,600 students. Please submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and two letters of reference electronically to Gary Mullen (gmullen@gettysburg.edu) and Tara Bowman (tbowman@gettysburg.edu). The Philosophy Department will begin reviewing applications on July 1 and continue until an appointment is made.
