The 22nd International Conference on Chinese Philosophy received a total of 57 papers for the Fu Foundation Asian Philosophy Essay Contest and three papers were chosen from them as award recipients. The Fu Foundation award a prize of $2000 to each winner, but there will no longer need travel fees as they will be presented at the ISCP’s online conference on June 27- June 1st Read below to learn more about the winners and their papers.
Timo Ennen, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, won the English Language Paper Award for “An Unbridgeable Gap——Cognitive Science, Mencius, and Wang Yangming.”
Duan Chongyang 段重阳 of East China Normal University won the Chinese Language Paper Award for his paper “‘Incorporation and Reinstatement’ and ‘Reinstatement of Captured Objects’: Two Steps in Xiong Shili’s Metaphysics.”
Wang Kaiyuan 王开元 of Hebei University won the Chinese Language Paper Award for “Desire, Disgust and Dignity: The Connotation and Theoretical Significance of Mencius’s ‘Heart of Shame and Evil.’”
