Summer Program: SDCF 2023

The Sinoloigcial Development Charitable Foundation is excited to announce that they will be running the 8th Greater China Region Summer Program in Chinese Studies for 2023. They will be conducting the program both in person and with an online viewing option, with participation from both scholars and key opinion leaders. They hope to accommodate up to 20 scholars and KOLs for this summer and admission. Admission with be done on a rolling first come first serve. These activities done by SDCF aim to further worldwide awareness and knowledge of Chinese culture and civilization. Please click here for more information on dates and application deadlines.

Harris to CSU

Eirik Lang Harris has accepted a position at Colorado State University to teach Chinese philosophy. CSU has an excellent MA program in philosophy, so this opens up new opportunities for students as well as being a terrific department for Harris. Congratulations!

Ph.D. Programs in Philosophy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Philosophy Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong is calling for applications for its Ph.D. programs that start from Fall 2020. The CUHK has a world-renown program in philosophy, equally strong in Chinese philosophy, analytic philosophy, and Continental philosophy. In the QS Subject Rankings in the most recent three years, it is ranked as the best philosophy program in Asia (it was ranked at the 30th, 34th, and 28th world-wide respectively in the last three years).

BNU Summer Philosophy program on Daoism

Beijing Normal University is again offering its Summer Philosophy program; this year, it is on the theme of Daoism. The program runs from July 10 to July 25, 2017, and the deadline for submitting application materials is April 23rd, 2017. 2nd Greater China Chinese Studies Program

The 2nd Greater China Chinese Studies Program, organized by the Hong Kong-based Sinological Development Charitable Foundation, has been announced for this summer. Information is available on this pamphlet. The 4-week program takes place in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Beijing and covers a wide range of topics related to Chinese philosophy and culture. A limited number of participants are eligible for sponsorship, meaning that all costs save travel to/from Hong Kong will be covered.

Fudan English-Language Chinese Philosophy Programs

Here is information about the English-language programs in Chinese philosophy offered at Fudan University. We have had some discussion of them here before. and the feedback we’ve gathered has been consistently positive. I had an opportunity to give a lecture to some of the students in this program a year or so ago, and was impressed with the students! The application deadline and other information is below.
