Northeast/Midwest Conference on Chinese Thought
April 27-29, 2018
University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT

The sixth annual Northeast Conference on Chinese Thought and the 14th annual Midwest Conference on Chinese Thought will be holding their first ever joint conference from Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29 2018, at the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, CT.

The organizers of the Midwest and Northeast Conferences share a commitment to fostering dialogue between scholars and students working on Chinese thought across disciplines, and from a variety of approaches.

We invite papers on any aspect of Chinese thought, as well as comparative papers engaging with Chinese thought.

We will select papers for the conference based primarily on the following criteria:

  1. Quality of the prospective paper, especially in terms of clarity, rigor, and innovation
  2. Openness to (or explicit participation in) cross-disciplinary exploration of Chinese thought

Presentations will be 20 minutes in length, grouped into panels that aim to bring out interdisciplinary connections.

Please submit an abstract of no more than one page to Alexus McLeod (alexus.mcleod@uconn.edu) by Jan. 20, 2018.
