A Job in CLASSICAL CHINESE STUDIES at Rutgers University, to begin in the Fall of 2012:

The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick, NJ, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Classical Chinese Studies at the level of assistant professor, beginning September 2012. Research fields for this position may include Classical Chinese literature, history, philosophy, and cultural studies. The successful candidate must have Ph.D. in hand (in Classical Chinese Studies or a related field) at the time of appointment and should be prepared to teach courses in Chinese Studies and East Asian Studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A commitment to scholarly research and service to the university and the field is expected. Salary is competitive. The position is subject to the availability of funds.
