Research Associate/Fellow (3 years, 80%)

Applications are invited for a 3-year Research Assistant (80%) based at the University of Nottingham, generously funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The post is part of the Leverhulme Research Project ‘Divine Saving in Greek and Chinese Polytheism’, directed by Dr. Theodora Jim (University of Nottingham, U.K.) together with Prof. Vincent Goossaert (EPHE, Paris). The successful candidate will work with the project team to analyse primary sources on Chinese religions from about the 10th to the 15th centuries C.E., and to compare and contrast Chinese polytheism with Greek polytheism.

Duties will include: collection and analysis of Chinese materials, translation of primary sources from Classical Chinese into English, conducting research in the UK and overseas, publication of research findings, presentation of research in conferences, data input into the project website, and assisting with the creation of a virtual exhibition and educational materials related to Chinese religions together with the project team.
