Florida International University, Miami and the Elling Eide Center, Sarasota (FL) will jointly host the 21st annual Southeast Early China Roundtable (SEECR), October 27-29, 2017.
The conference will begin with Dr. Nancy Steinhardt’s keynote address entitled “The Borders of Chinese Architecture” at 5:30 p.m. on October 27 (Friday) at the Elling Eide Library.
The first day of the conference, Saturday (October 28), will take place at the Elling Eide Center, and the second day presentations (October 29) will be at the Ringling Museum of Art, followed by lunch and a private museum visit.
We welcome proposals for presentations focusing on early and medieval China from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, including anthropology, archaeology, art history, history, literature, philosophy, and religious studies. Please send a short abstract (250 words) of your proposal and full institutional contact information to email@example.com by Aug. 5. Early submissions are welcome. Lodging and meals will be provided for presenters, as well as a limited number of observers.
