About the Workshop:
We are pleased to announce a Planning Workshop for the edited volume The Philosophy of the Daodejing in Chinese Scholarship, prepared for the Works of Philosophy and Their Reception (De Gruyter Brill) series. This volume is co-edited by Paul D’Ambrosio (East China Normal University), Xiao Ouyang (Peking University), Daniel Sarafinas (East China Normal University), and Ai Yuan (Tsinghua University).
This volume will be the first comprehensive collection introducing influential contemporary Chinese-language scholarship on the Daodejing to an international readership. It aims to highlight diverse philosophical approaches, interpretations, and contributions from scholars working within the Chinese tradition.
We warmly welcome both early-career and senior scholars to get in touch and discuss the potential contributions. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
