Dear Colleagues,

I have been asked to guest edit a special issue of the open access journal Religions.  The publisher said that if there is a set of five or more strong articles that work well together, then the articles can be published in a book edition (digital and paperback).  I was interested in doing this because the general topic they gave me is “Reenvisioning Chinese Religious Ethics.”  This will enable me to engage more fully with people doing work in the field today.  I want to make this an opportunity to bring together articles that address new directions in the field that have resulted from Chinese traditions entering into conversation with other traditions, and from the traditions being been applied in new contexts.

As you can see from the CFP (the link is below), this issue can bring together the work of people working on the intersection of Chinese religious thought with 1) the fields of cognitive science, psychology, feminist thought, gender and sexuality studies, and environmental and sustainability studies,  and 2) other religious and philosophical traditions.

The articles would be due around March 2020.  I’m happy to answer any questions people have.  Ultimately, I just want this to be a forum where interesting articles going in some new directions can be brought together.  Here is the link.
