Korean Philosophy Course Resources

The Korean philosophy educational content developed by the K-Academic Expansion Project might be of interest of the readers as a resource that could contribute to broader conversations in East Asian and comparative philosophy, as well as to related teaching and public-facing educational efforts. Please read more to see a message from the project’s Senior Researcher Eun Young Kim and gain access to the resources.

Since 2021, our center has been producing online lecture content on Korean philosophy.
We are currently preparing the second phase of the project, which will begin in 2027. One of our main goals is to share the educational video materials we have developed over the past five years with overseas institutions and scholars, especially those engaged in Asian philosophy, East Asian thought, and comparative philosophy.

We believe these lecture videos may be useful as supplementary teaching materials for courses related to East Asian philosophy, Korean thought, or comparative philosophy, and may also serve as a resource for broader educational and public humanities initiatives. As a non-profit educational institution, we would be pleased to make these materials available free of charge. In the longer term, we hope this may open possibilities for broader collaboration in both curricular and academic exchange, extending beyond the introduction of the Korean philosophy curriculum developed by our center to opportunities such as inviting our lecturers to contribute to Korean philosophy courses at your university.

Our content is guided by a clear vision: to present Korean philosophy not simply as a historical tradition, but as a living tradition that remains meaningful in relation to contemporary questions and concerns. Our lectures introduce traditional Korean thought while also connecting it to present-day discussions, inviting learners to reconsider its meaning and value in today’s context. Through this approach, we hope to make Korean philosophy more accessible, engaging, and intellectually alive for students, educators, and wider audiences.

I hope the materials may be of interest to you and prove useful in your teaching, research, or broader outreach activities. If any part of our content resonates with your work, I would be very happy to provide further information. We would also welcome the opportunity to meet with you online via Zoom to discuss possible forms of collaboration. Please feel free to contact us at your convenience.
