I applaud Van Norden for revisiting this issue. It is sobering to think that its been 20 years since his already powerful “Open Letter” to the APA. I am surprised, however, that he neglects to mention the University of Hawaii in this interview. In a perfect world, every Philosophy program in North America would be doing what UH has been doing for almost a century.

Well said, Jim. I don’t think UH-Manoa program has anything more that it needs to prove to get the recognition that it deserves, given its fantastic job placements and the amount of quality scholarship that its graduates have produced.
