From its origins in a limited part of China’s Shandong Province, Confucianism spread throughout the East Asian world of Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, and today is gaining new global dimensions. In this, gender and family have become challenging topics for a globalizing Confucianism. How can we re-think the family and gender using Confucian cultural resources? We encourage the submission of a variety of papers relevant to these topics. We are especially happy to hold this meaningful conference at Ewha Woman’s University and Sungkyunkwan University, institutions representing, respectively, women’s awareness and the Confucian traditions of Korea.
