Larry Whitney at BU recently told me about fascinating videos of the Autumnal Sacrifice to Confucius at the Confucius temple in Tainan, Taiwan. Thomas A. Wilson video recorded the sacrifice in 1998 and it’s been posted on his website here.

CFP: 2019 ISCP Conference in Switzerland
The Executive Director of the ISCP, JeeLoo Liu, writes as follows:
The official email address for our 2019 ISCP 21st International Conference on Chinese Philosophy has been established: iscp2019@philo.unibe.ch . We are inviting submissions of paper abstract (500 words) or panel proposal (with all paper abstracts). The deadline for submission is September 15, 2018, and the selection will be based on the themes of this conference as well as the quality of the abstract/proposal. The Society for the Study of Early China is pleased to announce its
seventh annual conference. The conference will take place at the
Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel in Denver, Colorado, on Thursday, 21
March 2019, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. As in past years, the SSEC meeting
will be held in conjunction with the Association for Asian Studies’
annual conference, but those who attend only the SSEC meeting are not
required to register for AAS. The SSEC meeting is free and open to the
public.
CFP: ISCWP at 2019 Pacific APA
The ISCWP plans to sponsor one or two panels at the 2019 APA-Pacific Meeting, which will take place in Vancouver, Canada, April 17-20, 2019.
We would like to encourage submissions of proposals of individual papers and panels. We encourage papers or panels that promote in-depth engagement between Chinese and Western philosophy (broadly construed). The submissions will be reviewed by all the three members of the board. When we select papers, we normally try to find papers that have a common theme to form a panel. You may have a better chance to be accepted if you submit a panel proposal which already has a common theme.
