CFP: ACPA Panels at the 25th World Congress of Philosophy

The Association of Chinese Philosophy will be organizing two panels at the 25th World Congress of Philosophy. This Conference will take place on August 1-8th, 2024 in Rome. The ACPA is currently accepting proposals for individual papers or panels to be considered for inclusion on two ACPA group sessions. The meeting are expected to be in person, and last 2 hours with 20 minutes for each presentation. The submission deadline is November 1st, 2023. Please read below for more information on submissions and the conference.

CFP: Panel for the ACPA at 2024 Pacific APA

The ACPA is welcoming scholars to submit proposals for individual papers to be considered for inclusion on a single ACPA group session at the 2024 APA Pacific Division Meeting. This meeting is expected to be in person and is open to submissions that engage with Chinese philosophy in a wide variety of ways. The ACPA is not specifying a theme for the group session prior to receiving proposals. In addition to the quality of submission, the selection of papers for presentation will be based on how well they can be worked into a good session. The 8th World Conference on Sinology is scheduled to take place in November 2023 on the Suzhou Campus of Renmin University of China. The conference will be conducted in both English and Chinese; please click here for more information on the conference.

CFP: NAKPA Annual Conference

NAKPA (North American Korean Philosophy Association) is holding the 8th Annual conference at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, Korea, on November 9-10th 2023. The topic for this year will be “Communication, Dialogue and Reconciliation” and the keynote speaker will be Professor Edward Chung. The selection committee will consider all papers regardless of the academic and research background of the sender. Proposals on the variations of this year’s conference topic, such as comparative Asian Philosophy, Politics and Philosophy, or Comparative Political Philosophy, will also be considered. New Book: The Confucian Tradition

Bridge 21 Publications is happy to announce that they have recently published a new book titled The Confucian Tradition: Between Religion and Humanism by Guoxiang Peng. The ISCP is happy to announce that they are inviting submissions for the ISCP Group Panel at the 2024 APA Central Division Meeting. This event will take place at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans, LA on February 21-24, 2024. They are currently welcoming any submissions relevant to Chinese philosophy and especially encourage junior scholars, international scholars, individuals who identify as minorities, and otherwise under-represented individuals to submit. ISCWP Announcement

Dear ISCWP Members,

Our vote has concluded, with the result that Shirong Luo has been elected ISCWP Vice President, and Yuanfang Dai elected as Secretary-Treasurer, for the 2023-2026 term. Thank you to all of the members for your continued support of the ISCWP, and for helping with the election and smooth transition of the new Board of Directors. And congratulations to Dr. Luo and Dr. Dai on their elections.

I now hand over leadership of the ISCWP to its new President, Dr. Sun Wei. I wish him all success in continuing to advance the important comparative project of the ISCWP, and using it to move our field forward. Godspeed!
