The Department of Philosophy at California State University, San Bernardino, has received permission to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor, to begin September 2019. ABD candidates will be considered. The Areas of Specialization and Competence are open but the department has a strong interest in diversifying its curricular offerings.

Journal of Confucian Philosophy and Culture (JCPC): New Website

The Journal of Confucian Philosophy and Culture (JCPC) is a peer-reviewed international journal published by the Institute of Confucian Philosophy and Culture, Sungkyunkwan University. It is the only English language journal dedicated exclusively to research concerning the history and contemporary relevance of Confucianism.

It was first published in 2001 for the purpose of interpreting and exploring Confucianism from a modern perspective. From 2007 it sought to integrate broader academic dialogue by publishing articles in Chinese and English. From August 2019, JCPC will strengthen its international network and broaden its global presence by concentrating on articles written in English.

JCPC (ISSN 1598-267X) is published biannually (in February and August) and welcomes the

ISCP Newsletter 2_20_19

Dear Friends of the ISCP

I am delighted to report to you that Professor Kwong-Loi Shun has accepted the nomination and has been elected to be our new Chair of the Board of Officers. On behalf of the board of officers, I wish to thank him for taking over the leadership for the future direction of the ISCP, and I also wish to thank the former Chair, Professor Robert C. Neville, for his tireless service to the ISCP over so many years.

Another update is that we have now completed our preliminary program and have published it on our website. Please check it out.

Those of you who will miss this year’s meeting please remember that our next meeting will be held in Shanghai in 2021 at East China Normal University. Professor Yang Guorong will be our new President by then. Please watch for our CFP and submit your abstracts in time.
